I am still of the opinion that alot of the rankings from ESPN and Rivals comes from which all-star game they pick. It seems every year the guys that pick the under armor game move up in ESPN rankings and down in the Rivals rankings and those that pick the Army game go up in the Rivals ranking and down in the ESPN ranking. Maybe it's just a coincedence but it does seem to happen that way every year. Not saying they don't rank the players that go to the other game high in some cases but it seems like they are almost always ranked higher on the list whover sponcers the all star game.

I can honestly tell you that has nothing to do with ESPN rankings.

Well, since I just got a look at the new 247Sports rankings that are set to release, I'm not sure what folks are going to say.

Let's start with what you have to say.

Serious question on this.

Swoopes performed much better at the rivals event than he did at the Opening. Why is one more important than the other when it comes to his ranking?

I have no real issue with him dropping but why the overreaction to one event while another is ignored (ASSuming your comment was related to Swoopes of course).

The Rivals event was closed to other media. So you can only see what you can see. Additionally, I have read where they didn't rate him that highly in retrospect, so despite this "great" camp, it wasn't like it was overwhelming. Not that we use that as any sort of barometer but I think it flies somewhat in the face of "great" camp.

The final thing I will say is this:

Gerry has seen as much or more of a Tyrone Swoopes over the past two years than any recruiting analyst or college coach anywhere. I'll take his word/feelings on Swoopes over that of any other recruiting analyst.

I got to say this and people may think I'm an idiot but I thought RSJ's QB film looked a helluva lot better than Swoopes.

Is he out of the rankings altogether?

Who would be a better prospect... Barrett or Swoopes?

Who would be a better prospect... 50 yr old Jaworski or Swoopes?

Who would be a better prospect... Drunken corpse of Joe Namath or Swoopes?

Who would be a better prospect... Mini Ditka or Swoopes? Well, mini Ditka of course.
