This is painfully true. However, neither Garrett Gilbert nor true freshman David Ash are quarterbacking this team now. Think back to last year and how Texas had a good chance to win that game...and that was with Weeden pulling the trigger. Ash has learned to protect the ball, and more importantly, the offensive and defensive lines have learned to be physical.

J.W. Walsh is not going to beat Texas in his first ever college start. Not. Gonna. Happen. Texas is going to pound on OSU and work the play action. I also won't be surprised if we see David Ash keeping on some ZR. The defense is going to harass J.W. into making mistakes and Texas will win this by 10 or more.

If you look dispassionately at the players on both teams, Texas has a significant edge in talent on both sides of the ball.

It's funny people are making such a big deal out of Hicks, while in their next breath stating OSU losing its starting quarterback and playing a freshman in his first start is somehow a positive for them. OSU's loss is bigger than ours, much bigger actually. Texas has the speed to contain Walsh's running threat, which isn't ever that great to start with. Jeffcoat and Okafor are going to rattle the heck out of the kid all game long. Texas will wear down the OSU defense the same way they have every other team this year, by pounding the ball in the first half. We'll jump out to an early lead, forcing Walsh to throw, he'll turn the ball over because of the pressure from the d-line, and the route will be on.

Completely uncalled for. Burton is a professional (unlike some guys that run internet message boards) and he calls it like he sees it. The fact that his professional opinion leads is that Texas isn't ready to win this type game makes him no less a fan than anyone else on this board.
