Mack said the coaches are comfortable with the tempo.
He insinuated that they just try and win every game when talking about the balance between experimenting with a new offense and needing to win this fall.

That could soften the blow of not getting A'Shawn if Ridgeway can have a smooth transistion to DT.

Not sure what to believe. I still don't agree with the higher up's decision to keep Mack and Manny but I still plan on going to games and rooting them on like crazy.
With Mack talking about tempo, maybe he's wising up to what was successful before switching to a power running game. I take it with a grain of salt what he says these days but I hope he follows through with it. I hope he let's Major run with it as OC and stays out of the offensive meetings.
As for the D, he should keep watch on Manny. Don't let him get crazy with stunts and exotic blitzes. Hopefully, running a higher tempo offense will force iaz to simplify his scheme. With the talent on all 3 levels, all they need to do is line up the best 11 where they best succeed and play sound fundamental defense. But it's all talk until they prove that they can stop or at least contain a quality offense. When/if they do, I'll give Manny iaz the D back.
To sum up, I'm not pessimistic because of the talent we have. But like a lot of other Longhorn fans, I think "deeds, not words" sums it up here. It's either beat OU and win the Big XII or bust.
