It's like the game clock in basketball. Basically anything less than three seconds shouldn't give an offense enough time to spike the ball and still have time on the clock.

I call ultimate BS on that "rule". You certainly should be able to spike a ball and still have a play left with three seconds. It takes less than a second to do that. Why must these a-holes insist on changing the rules every damn year with the most stupid senseless rules possible? Idiots are ruining my favorite sport.

Mack said they can go back to the tempo easily. He feels the added dimension is now Texas has an element of the power running game.

"Less than 3 seconds" is the rule.

On tackling, Mack felt the defense tackled better in the second half of last season.
He feels Adrian Phillips wasn't ready to play when they threw him in there. He said the defense being older, in better shape and more confident will help.

The fact that Texas is more physical, older and more talented with the ability to use more combinations will make the line better.
He said the spread makes it easier to run the ball and wear people out. That will allow Texas to be better in short yardage and goal line.

With 3 second rule, now they will have to review whether the spike was at 3 seconds versus under the previous rule where they had to review if it was done before time ran out. Doesn't resolve anything or speed up the game.

They've got 2-3 tailbacks. The tempo means more plays, thus more carries for those guys.
