So was the SEC just handed the title and Heisman Trophy?

  • Just curious, I know things are far from over. My biggest question is who on earth could challenge for the Heisman now that Oregon and K-State lost with the media's obsession over Johnny Manziel?

    Gmilla

  • If it's not him, it's Manti Teo

    JMarq05

  • This is just one hell of a season. Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich 2012. I get to choose between Notre Dame or the SEC AGAIN, with a side of A&M Heisman.

    Gmilla

  • It Manziel, and it isn't close. His numbers do not lie.

    241/356 (67.7%) for 3047 yards... 21 TDs and 7 INTs
    172 carries for 1114 yards... 17 TD

  • I hate the fact that the $EC is so overrated. Should be 6 of top 10 in next BCS poll.

    MattCarter

  • I hope not. Everyone knows the SEC plays a weak schedule and have overrated D because the O is so terrible. Then every year when everyone is hyping the mighty SEC, they go to the bowl games and crap their pants.

    Sarcasm

    CajunHorn

  • It's a giant crock of shit. The sec is so frickin overrated.

    Sancho

  • Ohio State picked a bad year (not their choice obviously) to be ineligible for a bowl game. Deserved, of course.

Only shot for Teo is for him to have a HUGE (10 tackle, 2 sack, 1 INT) type of night in an emotional close victory for ND.

    Pretty much agree with you.

Why is Klein automatically no longer the favorite? I think he should still be ahead of Johnny 2-loses.

Have you even looked at their stats? Klein is have a mediocre year by Big 12 standards. Manzeil is having the best year EVER in the history of the SEC.

If KState had played Baylor and lost early in the season, Klein would have never been in the Heisman discussion to begin with.

This is not a team award. Ask RGIII from last year.

Manit's the biggest stumbling block for JF now. And the ONLY reason he is a factor at all is that he plays for ND. The odds are just too heavily stacked against a defensive player winning.

The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.

  • The stats are not a good barometer. Manziel plays in the air raid. That offense produces the country's leader in offense every single year. It's a stat inflating system. Manziel is playing very well, but stats should not be the deciding factor. Take them into account sure, but comparing stats from a QB in an air raid system to a QB in K-State's system is comparing apples to oranges.

It goes further than just stats. He also has the hype machine behind him. The kid was probably mentioned during every game today.

Because he threw 3 picks and lost to a team that will end the year with a losing record.

  • What is really sick is that it is not impossible that aggies could end up in NC game. Some of the games are long shots, but we just witnessed Baylor destroy KState.

Georgia plays Georgia Tech and loses. Still go to SEC Championship game and beat Alabama.
    Florida loses to Florida State.
    LSU upset by Arkansas.
    USC upsets Notre Dame
    Texas upsets KState
    Oregon State upsets Oregon

Aggies play either ND or Florida State in NC game or Florida State vs ND - depends on human polls. FSU & ND both with only one loss, but Aggies may pass the eye test with surging year end finish, Heisman Trophy winner and 2 close losses to good teams (LSU & Florida). A very long shot, but hey nobody saw this season coming for them. ANd we could have had Manziel !!

I don't think anyone says it should be stats alone. It's about performance. And there's really just no argument for Klein anymore.

He stepped out against possibly the worst defense in college football and promptly threw three pics and looked bad doing it. Meanwhile, Manziel shredded one of the best defenses and the defending national champion last weekend.

Only a closet aggy could come up with something this silly and flawed. Aggy doesn't even have a chance at a BCS game and you come up with this craziness.

The odds are just as heavily stacked against a freshman winning.

If Manziel does indeed win, then how is it going to look when his 2 NFL caliber Olinemen leave for the Big Show and he falls on his face the next 2-3 years? Not good for Johnny & not good for the Heisman committee.

He has crazy athleticism but he's not a great thrower. He could be good but has to work on it.
