Good post. I really enjoyed Mack's reaction when Gray got the final first down.

I'm probably off the mark here . . . but I was thinking part of the celebration may have been getting Gray a 100yrd game in front of his dad in Lubbock. That was the play that did it.

Give a game ball to the coaching staff. I have been vocal in my displeasure, so I should be vocal when they do it right. I have not seen them this fired up or the team so passionate in a longtime. Texas was jawing, hitting, and even got a couple personal fouls. Generally, I would frown on some of that behavior, but today it made me smile. Passion and confidence can be infectious.

Agree but remember it was Tech, not Oklahoma when it is revealed the king has no clothes on.

I went up against the WORLD...ESPN, SI, CBSSPORTS, SPORTINGNEWS, and everyone...everyone on this site....I picked the winner...I was right...you were wrong...end of story! Now we will win vs Iowa State and TCU....haha! Hook Em Horns! In spite of the lousy fan base! Hook Em Horns!

I resent being called a lousy fan base. I, along with the other fans, always pull for Texas and support them. That does not mean we can't call a spade a spade. This team has drastically underperformed this year mostly due to very poor coaching. Telling it like it is does not make one a lousy fan!

Wow. I didn't even realize that. Well, whatever reason it was, that was some real emotion on the sideline and I was happy to see it.

I think there's no read on it right now.

Just as there is no read on a handoff from a QB, but with an extra blocker. Defenses can key off whatever they will at some risk of a handoff to the sweep guy. The main read JG has to make is where he can pick up the 1-5 yards we are looking for when the wildcat is in play.

And it doesn't mean there won't be a read someday soon.

At some point, there will be.

I'm not certain what that meant; but if you don't understand trap games; you don't understand college football. Ask Notre Dame about trap games after today. Remember the miracle that we needed to beat KU in 2005. There simply are games teams don't show up for; especially young teams like this one.

More comparisons to the game in 2004 fabulous. Is that you Mack?

I only wrote what I did because we have too many nay sayers... when I go to DKR it is a morgue. I have a degree from UT and one from Tech...I can tell you - there is no question which group of fans are the loudest - there is absolutely no doubt about it...25,000 Tech fans would shame 100,000 UT fans...to me its embarrassing too. Im not one of those sit on your hands and constantly criticize the team kind of guy. In all fairness, most people didnt pick Texas...but frankly it was an easy call for me. I look at them play read these posts...most of which are good...so I feel I have a finger on the teams pulse. I could sense it. It happened! It happened! Lets get behind the Longhorns! Perpetual naysayers..you will be held accountable... Hook Em!

Then you must be a doctor or miracle worker with all those degrees because it looked like our defense had no pulse. How you found one to make a calculated assessment is beyond my scope. Good job.

That is dead on 1eyedcobra, I dont feel like its a lousy fan base either. It is those always sunshine and rainbows fans that make for a lousy fanbase. That is called being delusional, or obnoxious, or a tech fan. Tech fans believe that every year is the year that they will win a national championship, eventhough they cant win a conference championship. Knowing that your team is underachieving and losing due to poor coaching means That you pay attention to whats going on. You dedicate Saturdays glued to the tv, spend money on tickets, hotel rooms, merchandise. Last night I had tickets to a lamb of god/ in flames concert with a bunch of buddies, it would have caused me to miss the game. I chose longhorns over one of my favorite bands, that is not a bandwagon fan even if I am tired of macks claping. I am nothing more than a t shirt fan, but I have follow texas football with my dad since I was knee high (late 80s when it wasnt so good to be a fan). Ive watched them underachieve, achieve, and over achieve. Ive never left, so I wanna complain, im gonna complain. That being said, good job to the guys yesterday.
