I disagree...IF the line was getting ANY push...that would have been a good off-tackle run

problem is past experience should tell the OC that aint happening.

  • Joey H on LHN just said players laughing on the sideline in the late 3rd qtr and one of them was Case McCoy. Saying really sends a bad message to your team and now he may have to lead it.

Watching Jace Amaro run down the field. You can add that one to the list of players Texas should have recruited.

Wouldn't have the same TE problems they have now of tipping the play call with personnel groupings.

Geoff Swaim is on the way. I think he has a couple of catches this year.

  • Daniels should have been called for holding on the safety in the end zone. He tackled the guy.

    Just really poor team performance.

  • You are what your record says you are.

And Mack Brown's record clearly states that he either doesn't grasp the significance of this game or he is incapable of creating the atmosphere of urgency that is needed to prepare for it.

The fact of the matter is the only time Brown has had consistent success against Top 25 teams was when he had a QB (Vince or Colt) who was a transcendent figure who molded the teams focus and attitude and controlled the play.

That should't always come from players -- that's why you pay coaches the big bucks.

BTW aside from OU the other beneficiary of today's game is A&M.

They can use this as a recruiting advantage -- Sumlin and his staff can recruit and they will point out that a stud can go to A&M play in the SEC, for an ascending program, and still play 6 or 7 games in Texas.

    Change is needed.

  • Anyone notice that our OL splits are almost just as tight in our base offense as it is in our goal-line offense. Everyone else has decent splits in their offense; however, for some reason we have VERY TIGHT splits (which allows the defense to bunch in) and then we still expect to be successful blocking and running the ball downhill between the tackles.
I know it's not the ONLY reason we can't run (line getting manhandled); however, it does make it THAT much more difficult, imo.

Sounds about right based on what we've all heard about this McCoy.

Like it or not, he'll take the snaps against Baylor. Changing things up on O won't necessarily be a bad thing.

But it hides a much deeper issue.

He should have been shown the door after 5-7. We all saw it coming. People begged and begged to have GDGD and McWhorter fired for years. The damage is so bad that it's going to take a damn good head coach to fix it and multiple recruiting classes. That head coach isn't Mack. We cleaned house and gave Mack a free pass. He can't fix the mess he created and we need to go in a new direction.

We are officially Florida State under Bobby Bowden.

Exactly - especially the Bowden comparison.

Dont understand how you can build a power (SEC Style) football team when you dont allow full-contact practices. Muschamp at Florida has institued full contact in practice because he wants practices to be harder than games. Dont think Muschamp had the opportunity to do that at Texas. Being a physical team is a mentality you have to cultivate. You cant go light in pratice then tell the guys to become physical on gameday.

Might be a good first step to solving the tackling problem by our defense as well.

muschamp was begging mack to make the practices more physical. mack is not capable of building a physical team.

Was just going to post the same. they are, as of now, woodshedding them and give an even greater idea of how bad our defense is

bobby you're doing a lot of code talk. i've always thought mack was a terrible coach. i almost cried the night muschamp left b/c i knew the implications of him leaving. what does mack do here? why are the players here consistently soft? not only that OU's players still look bigger than ours. despite all the offseason reports about turmoil in their locker room, it looked like they were the team with team camaraderie and chemistry.

i just really wish muscamp didn't leave...

    Pathetic performance.

If anyone needs a good emetic, this is one to watch over and over. I watched the ucla debacle in 1997, as they scored on the same play over and over. After the game coach mackovic told the press, "you need to get used to it".
I've watched and supported MB for all his years at UT, but it's time now for him to go. His current team is a disgrace, and this is a group of top usa athletes, who must be poor coached to play as poorly as they do, week after week. IT'S BEYOND PATHETIC.
I'm embarrassed and nauseated, after watching the team this year. The defense is an absolute joke--it's the worst EVER at UT, and Harsin's offense seems to be regressing weekly.
It's time for the coaches to do the manly thing and resign now, not at seasons' end. They need to go now!
    A few final thoughts:
1.If any of you think the answer is Case McCoy, you need immediate psychiatric intervention help. He looked ok against the 4th team of OU.
    2. Two teams that UT thought weren't big 12 good, Louisville & Rutgers. and now 6-0.
    3. TT is tearing WVU up 28-7, by PASSING AGAINST THE WORST SECONDARY IN D-1 FOOTBALL.We try to run against them all nite, and that's why we got beat. Go Harsin!!!!!
    4. Recruiting for UT for this year is likely now over. And, the 2014 recruits that watched this game today, would have removed UT from their list altogether. Those recruits still looking, that have OU on their list, will likely be sooners--Manning, Luke, etc.

No kidding. Amaro is having a helluva day.

But, the Tech D is making the WVU look average at best and the Tech O is picking the WVU D apart. Wonder what our coaches missed before last weeks game?

Mack should do the right thing and retire. His heart is not in it anymore. It has cost the university the opportunity to hire a hard nosed coach like urban meyer or Will muschamp. If Mack will not step aside then Diaz has to go. The defense lacks basic fundementals and mental toghness. It is not a coincedance that we beat OU twice and were competitive a third time with Will as the DC.

Diaz has to go and not Brown? I am not saying today but at the end of the season, Brown has to go. The staff will be let go and the next coach can bring in his own people.

  • I thought we would be good this year... probably loose 2 and then next year play for the championship. Now I feel we will be lucky if we go 8-4 next year. This loss was embarrassing. Diaz has to go.
