Scott out for Alamo Bowl; two others questionable

  • Leroy Scott (concussion) is out for the Alamo Bowl tomorrow. Steve Edmond (ankle) is questionable, as is Daje Johnson (back spasms).

Trey Hopkins (stress fracture) and Ashton Dorsey (concussion) have already been ruled out.

Maybe that is the reason why they don't want to have physical practices. It can be hard to strike a balance between the need to go hard in practice and the need to stay healthy.

For the record, the NFL is now contractually limited as to the number of practices in full pads that can be held, both during training camp, and during the season. I doubt that anybody wants to call them soft.

Maybe so...but from the standard of big time college football, this Texas team is definitely soft.

The thing is that all NFL teams have the same number of practices in pads with contact. We have less full contact practices than do our opponents and it shows.

Wonder if Appplewhite will change this? Thought Bennie was going to make 'em tough.

  • Bennie's job was to make them strong. You don't get tough just getting in shape.
