Sat with Sheroid Evans today

I was flying from Austin to Kansas City through DFW on American. The UT track team was on the first leg on their way to Des Moines, IA. Sheroid got the middle seat next to me. He looks more like 6-2 than 6-0 to me. He is also a very sharp dresser and a really well spoken young man. I didn't bug him too much, but I told him I thought this UT secondary has the chance to be really special. He was surprised that I knew who he was. Marquise Goodwin was a couple rows back.
"I've heard some of our fans say, 'We were always an SEC school. We just didn't know it," athletic director Bill Byrne said.

I love watching a ridiculously fast defensive player in the Texas secondary for the first time in, well, there's never been anybody this fast in the secondary that I can ever remember.
The punt return in the A&M game was unbelievable. He is in a different speed category than everybody else.
How many touchdowns could he have saved last year just on speed alone? With him, angles are less important.

Quandre would like to talk with you! Diggs would still be running on that punt return if the aggy was blocked before QD was tackled at the 10 yd. line!

If Evans had tried to make that block, he would have blocked from behind and a flag thrrown and who knows what would have happened. Evans backing off was a smart move.

When it comes to speed on the field, with full pads, its Edorian McCullough IMO.
Only played one year as a true freshman, but holy crap could that guy move?!

Now you hit a nerve. EM looked like a budding star at a True FR. So did the WR from Flower Mound, I remember watching those two in practice and they were incredibly talented.

Bandit... I agree with you on Evans backing off was a smart on the angle he took and would have been tagged with a Blk/Bck... but if you're talking angles and if Sheroid had made the adjustment, he could have made a legal block on Aggy on that play! I'll more than happy to discuss my football qualifications via email or PM!
