NBA refereeing is by far the most subjective and difficult of all the sports.
Plus, I believe the NBA is in a transition where a lot of the more veteran refs are retiring and the younger ones haven't fully developed yet.
As for the conspiracy theories ... well, I find them amusing.

There's always going to be conspiracy theories associated with the NBA because it opens itself up to them. You can't watch officiating that horrible and not wonder sometimes. I get what you're saying about the subjective element, but you have to do better than the garbage I've seen in these playoffs.

The bottom line is Kevin was fouled in Game 2 but so what? If they don't call it its not a foul. They put themselves in this position by falling so far behind early; so it never should have come to that play. Game three was there own coach's fault for taking both of there stars out at the same time. Game four and all the previouls games except game one is that their so called deep bench is in deep freeze. Nobody on that bench has done anything at all. You can't just do well when the crowd is cheering for you. You have to step up and the times when the pressure is the highest and make a play even if its on the road. I don't care how many points RW scored last night he still showed part of the problem again by making that stupid foul.

You must not have ever listened to Tim Donnehey discuss officiating. He said they are definitely influenced by the league.
