IIRC, Gerry previously mentioned this as a possibility...Below from ESPN...
"According to this text by Paul Biancardi of ESPN Recruiting, Texas assistant Russell Springmann is being mentioned as a possibility. "... Would be an excellent choice," tweets Biancardi. "Has done a great job as top recruiter, coach."

I agree with Gerry. Springmann is a first class coach, recruiter, and more importantly person. Hope he gets offered the job.
