Robert Nkemdeche commits...

It just shows you that you should roll the dice. You never know what will happen. Yes he may not stick with the commitment. But right now he is with Clemson and that is all that matters. So every time the rumor mill says lock to X and you don't play, then there is a chance you are missing out.

winner. not recruiting a kid because he's a lock to X is just silly. especially a talent like this kid

  • Where are the posters that had this kid already enrolled at 'Bama? It is not over but it goes to show how unreliable some of the info that people get all fired up about are.

In that part of the country you shouldn't take anything for granted. Its dirty business.

wow! that's a surprise. Im glad it's not a SEC school

better than Oklahoma. i wish it WAS an SEC school aTm could have fun with.

i seriously doubt this one sticks. Alabama finds a way to get this one. we'll see.

Good point but it's not what matters.

It doesn't matter who he's committed to now, it's where he ends up....

I am well aware of the SEC's reputation on our boards. It doesn't make them any more real than the people who were boldly proclaiming the kid a Tide lock. What it says is nothing is as certain as people make it sound sometimes. We would all be wise to bear that in mind.

Their reputation is not just limited to our boards and fwiw its accurate that much i know. if you are suggesting otherwise then where is the emoticon of an ostrich with its head in the sand. I need it now.

Very funny. Nevertheless, my point is that there was a rush to concluding the outcome of Nkemdiche's recruiting. That much is obvious...unless you disagree. As for the other matter, some of the SEC schools have a history--I spent a lot of years in SEC country. But so do a lot of schools. Heck, look what came out about USC. Personally, I prefer to air on the side of caution than accuse programs without proof.

  • An update from Barton Simmons...not really a surprise that it's not over & I still contend this will be the greatest de-commitment in 20 years

  • I'm from Clemson 247. This is the 2nd time on 5 years the #1 recruit has picked Clemson. Point being the staff does a nice job of hanging on to these high profile recruits consistently. Examples: CJ Spiller when the whole world said he was Florida, Sammy Watkins, Tony Steward, Stephone Anthony, former #1 recruit Daquan Bowers, Mike Bellamy.

I visited the school the other day and spoke with the Grayson Trio for a piece on Clemson 247. Not saying there won't be some fireworks here but being with Kamara and Gallman is important. I was also told when I was at the school Nkemdiche really liked the family atmosphere at Clemson and was a deciding factor for him. I expect Alabama to press hard all the way to the end on this but I think Clemson hangs on to him in the end.

There is no doubt Dabo Swinney has shown the ability to zero in on 2-3 guys a year and get them, or make it one hell of a recruiting battle.

Sammy Watkins, Stephone Anthony and Tony Steward in 2011 come to mind immediately, not even thinking back to DaQuan Bowers and others.
