Recruitocosm says there has been no offer on DC - not done

  • twitter feed says GREAT sources say Austin has not been offered and no offer has gone out for any DC at this point in time

    is merely a finalist among a group of people UT is talking too

    The BOR meeting that "may or may not" have occurred...& just discovered street agents affect recruiting with a riveting article about street agents & how street agents "may or may not" affect recruiting...& 2010 recruits that are currently "on the fence" (I don't want to hurt their feelings & tell 'em the 2010 class has already signed)...& announced recruits have been told Randy Shannon was hired as DC...& stating there may or may not be an unnamed candidate for OC

    But at least they've got great sources...right?!?!

    Im not saying Bobby is full of it but Ive seen him admit on this site these people have real sources

    Really? Bobby Burton says Jesus has legit sources?

    Bobby do you care to confirm?

    I've heard him say to not bash or call them names but not that they're legit sourced.

    Bobby did say that. He knew about the Mims thing and he appears to be on point with the OC happening in the next 48 hrs.

    I am a paying member of this site and have a ton of respect for what Bobby, Gerry, and Jeff do here.

    That said, I don't see why anyone would bash a free site devoted to Texas sports and recruiting. Fantake is literally just that. A site run by fans where you get their opinions and inside knowledge when they have some. Why people are against that is beyond me.

    They don't lie about anything. They report what they are told. Sometimes those things turn out to be false.

  • It's obvious that Recruitocosm has sources and became the flavor of the month recently.

    But it's also obvious that Shuttlesworth isn't as prescient as he'd like others to believe. That's not a crime, obviously, but it is amusing to see the anti-OB crowd treat him like they accuse OBers of treating Ketchum.

    It'll all shake out in the end.

    Solid take. I like him and think its clear he has sources. But like anyone, he doesnt bat 1000%. The hatred among horn fans against providers of information is staggering. Some people hate Shuttlesworth with a passion. Others hate Ketch. It really seems so unnecessary...

  • Can you name one thing they scooped that wasn't posted first on a message board or elsewhere?

    I'm not buying it. Anyone who says Texas went into a game without an actual gameplan is full of it. A bad gameplan is one thing, without one at all is entirely something else.

    I'm all for free sites where fans with inside sources can share their take. I'm against said insiders making things up to make themselves look better and other people look worse. If they have no inside information just don't say anything or write an opinion piece. The real problem is fans with inside information won't have anything to post and keep a site up. As someone who has connections I can tell you, you don't get enough to keep a site filled and people coming back unless you make stuff up. Which is what Jesus is doing and it's a real problem. He's not helping people by posting BS about coaches and their behavior.

    The board meeting to discuss salaries is no indication of anything. Really. Compensation meetings can be had with out anyone currently filling the position

  • Also that has been up for awhile online. He could have seen that and then posted about both going down in the next 48 hours. Then because he didn't know who the OC was he stated the whole "no names were mentioned". But they mentioned Austin to him?

    the OC position has now been posted on the job board. so now the DC and OC positions are posted. We will see what happens but both positions posted this week with a regent meeting on Fri discussing both = a pending announcement soon on both positions IMO

    On every Texas football board I have ever been on - Insiders report what they heard. They are usually vilified in advance because the info isn't always correct. Things change. Most people understand that.
