Realignment Question

  • IF Clemson, FSU, Louisville and whoever are added to the Big 12 would you be interested in the Big 12 and SEC setting up a deal similar to the Pac 12 and Big 10?

    I know it would be harder with a 9 game schedule but a lot of our teams would be playing each other anyway......Florida/FSU, Clemson/USC, Louisville/UK, etc. It would also allow some past rivalries to get renewed, that might generate a lot of fan interest like Missouri/KU, UT/Arkansas, and TT/A&M.

    I was going to say no until I read this. Now I'm for it just for the aggie reaction to being paired as a rival with TT while Arkansas gets Texas.

  • I don't foresee either league being excited about locking down a game unless it was a true rivalry.

    Texas and A&M will play again... I just don't know when.

    I don’t see it as long as UT continues receiving the amount of money it gets from other sources. But remember, Money Makes the Monkey Dance.

    It's going to be about more than money. Time will heal all wounds and they'll play again. It may not start out in football, but I could see some of the lesser sports scheduling an out of conference game or two and then working it out from there.

    If we are going to restore historic rivalries, then the Arky rivalry is ten times the one with Aggy. You are 100% correct!

  • I think you'd have to have Kentucky and Kansas playing against each other for TV purposes. Something like Baylor and Florida and Texas and Vandy.

    Those things are all about TV.
