  • Obviously his agent prepared that or had some publicist put a spin on that one.

And his reference to the book of Ezekiel, all the USA did was help bin laden "turn, turn from his evil ways".

  • I can understand the notion of not wanting to celebrate a death. But you absolutely, under no circumstances, should pull out the "we haven't heard his side of the story," line when talking about the worlds most wanted man, the face of terrorism, and the guy responsible for the death of 10's of thousand of people throughout the world.

  • he's just a stupid kid....If that was the only tweet he'd made, i think he'd survive the PR backlash with his response. HOWEVER, his tweet about not knowing what happened on 9/11 and not believing an airliner could take down the towers (like it was all some big conspiracy) paints a very different picture of him from what he wants you to believe in that response. I see he's since deleted that post and he didn't have the balls to respond to that part.

  • I know many people who think that 9/11 was some sort of "inside job". Most of these are college aged kids, who tend to lean left-winged anyways and who listened to Alex Jones and infowars and taken his words at face value. They listened to someone who has thrown together a few things and made a very loose connection between them and that all of a sudden equals conspiracy.

Almost as crazy as the far-right telling the world Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9-11, or invading Afghanistan to fight the Al Qaeda world population of 300, in the end costing us 1.25 trillion and 6,000 dead American soldiers. Some on the 'left' might have their conspiracies, ridiculous as they are, but the conspiracies of the right-wing have consequences.

my point wasn't that the right wing doesn't have its own conspiracy theories, listen to Glenn Beck, and in about 5 seconds you'll see that they do. I have the same problem with him about loosely connecting things and presenting them as more than coincidences as I do with Jones and his conspiracies. My point was that some don't take the facts that are presented and form their own opinions. Instead they listen to what they hear, decide it makes sense without any further investigation because it sounds good, and then present it as absolute truth while every other opinion is false. Every action has consequences, this I know, this we all know, but doing nothing also has it's consequences.

  • Let's just all agree that Rashard Mendenhall is an idiot and not take this any further politically. It's a sports board!

He's 23 years's old. That's a few shy of 40, but I'd still say his "I'm just a kid" window of opportunity has closed.
