REPORT: Two Longhorns accused of sexual assault (11 a.m. update)

  • UPDATE:Per Mack, the two players in question have been suspended from the team for violating team rules. They have been sent home.

    Mack wouldn't say whether or not either suspended player was a starter. He also would not say whether or not the team had a curfew last night.

    Mack will have no further comment.

    Here's the report from KENS 5 in San Antonio:

    SAN ANTONIO -- Just one day before the Alamo Bowl, two University of Texas football players are at the center of a sexual assault investigation, San Antonio police confirmed to KENS 5.

    Police were called at 2:48 a.m. Friday to the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in the 200 block of North St. Mary.

    A woman told police she met two UT players out partying overnight and invited them back to her room at the Holiday Inn. She later made the allegations of sexual assault to police.

    Officers said University of Texas football coaches have been notified of the situation. The players have had initial talks with police and were expected to be further questioned by police sexual assault detectives Friday morning.

    The names of the players have not been released, since no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

    The Longhorns team is staying at the Marriott RiverCenter hotel.

    Both teams in the Alamo Bowl game -- the University of Texas Longhorns and the Oregon State Beavers -- were scheduled to have a walk-through practice at the Alamodome on Friday.

    Both teams' coaches have a previously scheduled news conference at 11 a.m. Friday.

    In other news, if a ho invites me back to her hotel room at 2 am it's 100% of the time for freaky. She basically invited the freaky and as long as they only did the freaky she shouldn't be allowed to make this claim. That's the risk of inviting strangers to your room at 2 am

  • Looks like Patterson isn't the only head coach who has kids getting in trouble with the law. Unfortunately Mack has had his share of players with issues as well. Absolutely horrible timing. I only bring this up per Chupita's assertion that Patterson isn't a good option to replace Mack due to having kids in trouble with the law.

    Yeah, a drug addicted QB, multiple players dealing drugs and a team-wide drug problem pointed out to you by a visiting recruit is the same thing as two players accused of sexual assault. Same thing.

    Wanna go back and look at the rest of the kids under Mack with law issues? It isn't just these two and you know it, but whatever. If you think Texas kids as well as kids at other programs aren't hitting the hippie lettuce and "purple drank" with great regularity I've got some ocean front stuff you'll love in AZ. TCU just happened to get caught. Pretty sure Patterson wasn't aware of or condoning any of those issues.

  • I am going to be blown away, just stunned, if Texas shows up to play like they give a shit tomorrow night. I assume/hope rape didn't occur, but it is stupid for these guys to be out that late this close to a game regardless.

    No, I don't think that 'kids at other programs' have their starting QB addicted to drugs, have multiple players dealing drugs and don't have a team-wide drug problem. But hey, you want Mack Brown gone so anything goes at this point.
