Great energy and a huge game for Sheldon. Nice finish for Brown as well down the stretch. Good to see this team play strong the last 4:00 minutes and step up even though it was below avg. OU team.

For a mediocre team that most gave little chance of dancing, we are one win away from a good chance at making the tournament. We now are assured of an even conference record and with a win in the tournament a 20 win season. I think we scrape our way in under that scenario. I do think we need one more win though.

Agreed. A loss to Kansas and a win in the Big 12 tourney is probably enough for them.
I will say, I'm a little disappointed in the sense of urgency this team has started the last two games with considering everything at stake. In two games Texas really needed to win against two teams at the bottom of the Big 12 standings it had to put together a run at the end to avoid an upset.
They got the wins, and that's obviously the most important thing, but I was disappointed with their energy to start the last two games.

“McClellan was patient and Brown got a couple of them,” Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger said of the sequence. “They were setting screens with their guys on the baseline. McClellan got open because we were paying a little attention to Brown. They both stepped up and made big baskets at critical times, and I give credit to both of them for doing that.”
Classy statement by their coach, wait a minute, I hate sooners....

Texas needs to figure out how to attack the junk defenses teams will throw at them in the tourney. Any word on why Lewis didn't play? Though Gibbs had great production with 8 points in 13 minutes. The and 1 about midway in the 2nd half pretty much gave Texas the momentum to close out the Sooners. That and the 12 points between Brown and McClellan on 5 possessions shortly after.

McClellan came through with a big night. J'Covan got hot when it counted. The unsung hero was Holmes who scored some big clutch baskets at the end and had a series of tough rebounds. Everyone else should have stayed home. I guess a win is a win.

Completely agree there. Holmes had some huge minutes towards the end.
It's really looking like it's going to come down to a third shot at Baylor to get into the Dance. Next Thursday at 8:30 will be do or die time for Texas.

Agree about Holmes, too. He was particularly instrumental in hitting the offensive boards. This team desperately needs that kind of work from Holmes and Bond and particularly since Chapman disappeared about a month ago. Like it or not, this team is going to have to survive on outside shooting, drives to the basket, and follows after offensive rebounds.
Bond deserves some credit for 8 rebounds in 17 minutes.
