Predictions in 2 years? No bs!

  • What are the realistic predictions. If not a BCS play, it would be a total failure in my eyes.

It all depends on the quarterback as far as I'm concerned. The pieces are falling into place IMO.

  • Unlike 2010 and 2011, there not one game that anyone on this board can say that the Horns are going to definitely lose on the 2012 schedule.

Not one. So at the most that equates to a one or two lose season at the most and at least a BCS bowl bid.

    Bottomline.

I cannot stress this enough, we do not need an ace at the QB spot. We just need them to cut down on turnovers (or have none) and keep the defense a little off balance with the passing game. Our defense will keep is in the tough games with our run game winning it for us.

  • Realistically I believe this team should be in contention for a national title in 2013. Top 3 recruiting class last three years but I am just gonna count the last two, will have another top five class this season. The players are developing and the kids are getting to play early in there careers. By 2013 all of our stud freshman that played last year 18 and redshirt freshman 4 will be juniors and really begin to dominate. I believe our defense will be outrageous by then. Our o-line will begin to dominate this year our running game is gonna be ridiculous. LSU made it to the title game with one of the worst offenses (as a whole) I have ever seen. I believe with the players we currently have by 2013 Texas an Alabama will have by far the most dominating defenses in college, that is taking into the effect the loses we will take. Biggest issue for me is the Texas depth at safety. I believe we have the linebackers in place to be great, our corners were all frosh and sophomores last season so depth is great. DT will be outstanding and the addition we will be making with the 13 class wow! DE will all be fast and hard hitting. This is the first time I have really seen our D built with this much depth! 2-3 deep at almost every position. That is what wins you game, what team can outlast the other team ,that is why tamu couldn't hold it together in the 4th last season,no depth! As for the QB debate go look at a highlight reel of Ash then remember he was a true freshman with very little snaps before the season. You saw him progress through the season. At the beginning of the season when he would mess up the coaches asked him what he was thinking and he never had good reason. Towards the last few games he started to explain what his progressions were, what he was reading on the D what and why He did what he did. He got thrown into a pack of wolves and I think he came out alright next year especially with three warm up games you are gonna see a new David Ash. I think he will be much improved. Look for Jalen Overstreet and Johnathan Grey to be taking some snaps from the Wild. Overstreet is just too talented for them not to try and use him next season. Offensively biggest weakness is TE, biggest strength RB, look for our WR to really do well next season. I do expect great things in 2013. I get that there are building progressions but when you continue to get top talent the building progress is not as long, 2010 was our oh shit what happened season, 2011 was out building season. Now we're back to regular Texas football. Are we still gonna struggle next season absolutely Texas is very young. That's ok by 2013 we should be completely figured out even with loses to coaching staffs injury to players and early losses to the NFL and that's a fact

Yep. This is the answer. Bobby and Gerry were saying it before last season. Unless QB play gets to the B- level, every game has the potential to be a struggle. Nothing I saw last season allows me to say with certainty that QB play will not be a achilles heel again next season. And if it's still a problem in 2012, is there reason to believe it will definitely be better in 2013?
