Diffult for Opponents Defenses to key on one RB if the FB can carry as well as the Half back.

The "Nickel" formation is a 3-2-6, 3 Down Lineman, 3 LBs ad 5 DBs. A LB is replaced by a DB.
The 'Dime" formation is a when two Nickel Backs, the 5th and 6th DBs, replace LBs.
