If it was me, I would tell my dad how much I loved and respected him. How he was the best. How I was going to pass down everything to his grandchildren. How I would see him on the other side. Then I would spend he rest of the time reliving special times -- for me, that's ski trips, getting picked up from school early to head to the deer lease on opening weekend, dove hunts, watching the Horns together, him being at my games, watching baseball games at the Dome, BBQs, etc.

That's actually the exact things I just did. Although he is not my biological father, he is the dad that has been there most of my life.You just validated me in ways you cannot fathom.
My dad can't carry on conversation so it's difficult for me to truly express myself like I would like to because it's hard for me to see him that way. His organs are shutting down by the day and he's in tremendous amounts of pain. I'm going back to my moms tomorrow to visit some more and hopefully he is responsive. I feel like shit for coming to Austin this weekend.
