So you guys agree with each other that the QB that shouldn't even be on the roster should be getting the majority of the snaps in the spring game over our true starter that is green in the area of actual game experience. Genius!

Jeezus... do you think the spring game is actual game experience? That it's getting him quality reps? Ash gets better experience in practice when he faces the ones that are actually running a legit defensive scheme than if he were run out there to face the second team vanilla defense. Just because you want to see him more doesn't mean it's bizarre or wrong that McCoy is out there more than Ash.

  • It amazes me that Texas fans still don't understand what Spring games are all about.

Idiotic statement... The pressure of the crowd in the spring game is just as important to Ash's development as reps in practice, prob. more so because of the live game atmosphere. Him being so young and inexperienced he needs all the reps he can get. When McCoy is attempting more passes by double then yes that is retarded. Ash needs the work, McCoy is terrible and if he is playing we are looking at another 6 or 7 win season period.

You didn't have to preface your post by labeling it an idiotic statement. Mentioning the pressure of the spring game made it very clear you were making an idiotic statement right off the bat. That's one of the more laughable things I've read on this site. He's played against OU, played an entire bowl game, and played on the road against Big 12 competition, but you think the spring game in front of a crowd of 15k is going to put pressure on him?

There is so much wrong with this I wouldn't know where to start. Did you even go?

Well maybe Mack doesn't want the entire conference to scout Ash's abilities since the game is big time pub on a national network, thus reserving his snaps and throws today. Oh wait....

I was there. I have the sun burns to prove it and I think Ash looked like he improved the most. Last year I felt McCoy over Ash and I was a bit skeptical about Brewer now my thoughts have reversed. I feel Ash should start Brewer can backup(rather red shirt though) and McCoy is 3rd best. Spring game doesn't really tell you a whole lot who is the best when their matchups isn't very fare so I kind a side with Korben on this one but no matter what you say a orange white game is exactly what it's called a scrimmage, nothing serious so don't take it that way but I do feel it should show you what to expect for next season and I have to say I'm a little worried by what I saw. Good 1st D good running game but too much talented recievers and noone good enough to through it. Ash can throw the deep ball I guess, McCoy Med range and Brewer short range.

My poke at Korben was the silliness over reps. This was one of a lot of scrimmages from Spring.
Look, Ash did a nice job with a lot of plain vanilla stuff from the offense and defense. I've been to so many of these, including today, that I realize not to put too much stock in the "game". As fans we are hungry for news and to see the team take shape. It just doesn't do that by April 1st.

Outside his own guy backing into him on two punt returns he was just not called upon but maybe once on a pass. As i recall it was incomplete.
