I think Texas really mis-evaluated two of them - Barrett and Mitchell.

With Wilson, I think he wanted to get away for school.

I can understand Barrett. Not for Swoopes per se, but at least you can understand how they might like someone else. The evaluation of Mitchell was just poor.

Look at who the area recruiter and position coach are for him.

The decision not to offer was the DCs. The area recruiter brought him to the table which is all they can really do.

Yeah, Texas has a whining, dickless imbecile running the program and getting his head beat in by his competitors on an ongoing basis and Urban Meyer is as good and ruthless as any of them in the business. Imagine if Mack Brown had retired to an ESPN gig and Texas had hired Urban Meyer after last season.

Anyone who honestly looks at this class and calls it anything better than "solid", which is a reach, is either paid to talk about Texas or lives in a fantasyland. The state is getting cherrypicked by outsiders again and ATM is doing what it wants. Welcome to 1987.

College football recruiting in Texas abhors a vacuum. The University of Texas football program currently occupies much less space in the state than it did a few years ago. Darwinian forces have acted accordingly and the space is now occupied again.

For the good of the program Mack should have resigned in 2010. The proof is taking years to come to light, and the damage will take years to undo.
