Official Fire Mack Brown Thread Redux

    Two of those scores are 12 and 9 years old, respectively, and Texas has won a BCS championship, played for another, and won two other BCS bowl games since then. The other two are current and pertinent to the discussion.

    I don't mind threads like this because everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I do mind is the artificial "bumps" just to keep it on the front page. That's chickensh##t. It empowers the people on the thread and polarizes the whole board. Let it run it's natural course!

    Whatever point was initially made has been replaced. It is no longer about Mack, it is about them.

    Exactly. Not sure how to say this, but if you allow people to sit on their couch in the underwear and type stuff without any repercussion, this is what you get. It's the "look at me, look at me, everybody gets a trophy" mentality. That may be a little harsh, but you get my drift.

    No kidding eh. Hey TeeDoe that "everybody gets a trophy mentality" is the exact same Mack Brown has employed. Him giving out awards after every game and having a banquet are proof of that.

  • For the love of God, just stop. These threads do more harm than good. Regardless of what the opinion of the average fan, it isn't going to get Mack Brown fired. The "fire Mack Brown" threads sure aren't helping our recruiting though.

    The two are not not mutually exclusive. It is entirely possible to be critical of something yet still support the prescribed course of action (ask the majority of servicemen who have served in the sandbox over the past decade). I have been quite critical of Brown this season (for the first time ever) but I have accepted the fact that he will coach this team in 2013 and that no amount of bitching will change that certainty.

    Lol, we won't have any of that dirty stinking logic around here. we will bitch until the cows come home and the chickens come to roost and any other lame metaphors we can come up with because it is the right thing to do. We really have to keep the negative focus on coach Brown and whichever coach has a bad week with him so that he/they will feel our wrath. The power brokers at the university will feel our wrath. The BMDs will feel our wrath. The players that underperform will feel our wrath. Anyone who is not profoundly upset with the state of the program will feel our wrath. We will impose our will through the power of the Internet on those who would believe that we can improve with the current staff. God Bless America, the state of Texas, and fire Mack!

    I guess I must have drunk from the Internet stream today.

    I've already shown why the metaphor is flawed. It's not logical. It's actually the opposite. "We can't effect change in the course of events immediately or directly and so we must endorse the course of events dictated to us from on high." That's not logical, it's not even American.

    It's actually quite simple but I'll explain it so that you can follow. Your ability to influence recruits on these websites (which one could argue maybe minimal) is actually greater than your ability to influence the people who determine Mack Brown's job security. Bobby discussed the impact of a venomous fanbase in a post back in October. If you don't think impressionable kids read these websites, then go back & read Daniel Gresham's comments from around 1 month ago. If you are a big money booster then I retract my prior comments. I suspect you aren't so you are more likely helping the Aggies with your posts than helping to get Mack fired.
