Jeff, what are your thoughts of Brewer as a potential starter at QB? Arm strength? Does he deliver the ball on time? Does he seem to see the field? I'd assume seeing him and Ash in the same practice might have given you some insight

So what is up with Mack claiming Case as the clear backup? I don't trust's mack's judgment. Case as the #4 seems more believable. I still think they should invest close to zero time on Case. Focus on developing Brewer and Overstreet. It will only help the future of the program.

This could potentially play havoc with some opposing Defenses I feel.

From reading it sounds like 28 is healthy, focused, and is ready to play and hit someone.

LM, you're reading too much into it. He said as of today Case, meaning if there were a game today, Case would be the backup. He didn't hand him the backup job for 2013. I'm as hopeful as you that someone makes a play for the backup job ahead of Case this spring, summer, and fall camp.

I understand how you feel. They should put a large picture of him in the locker room with a sign, "Don't Case your Team." What he did was beyond stupid, he ain't the real McCoy.

I think that's a somewhat common feeling after what happened prior to the bowl game. Put not only his own career and the chances of his team in jeopardy but also that of another player by potentially forcing them to pull a redshirt for a single game.

That was my take on it as well.
All that said I expect him to be the backup all year.
