I think this game will change based on recent trends. Protective equipment cannot change the fact that the brain still gets rattled around inside wonderful helmets.
And before the downvotes commence, realize that I am not advocating change at all. Merely joining those harkening its arrival. This game as we know it has a limited lifespan.

Look above for the question and full answer he gave. The interview is found here.
http://www.newrepublic.com/article/112190/obama-interview-2013-sit-down-president#
He was asked a question in an interview, and he answered it. He said nothing that could be reasonably construed to imply he was interested in using his office to force a change or campaign for a change. He merely referred to the likelihood of gradual change (which we have been seeing for the last several years) and referred to the governing bodies as being the ones needing to look into the situation.
That hardly seems the sort of statement to make one say that he is paying too much attention to matters that are outside of the scope of his duties.

Its pretty obvious that he isn't paying much attention to any scope of his duties other than the next election; but that's a different topic. The most distracted president of our generation.
Wild Bill was correct. Its up to kids if they want to play football. It's not a choice if someone in Chicago wants to walk the streets and take the chance of being wasted. It is an option if they want to play football or any other sport.

Probably the worst thread topic and responses of my 2 years on this site.
A cheap way for a couple of jackasses to get political where it doesn't belong and take shots at Obama. How is he supposed to respond, that he couldn't care less about violence in football?
Like it or not, football is going to look a lot different in 10-20 years. If the brain injuries don't stop people aren't going to allow their kids to play.

I love the "he was asked a question, so he answered it" response.
No offense to you, but that's a rather simplistic viewpoint.
I want a President that says "Really? Really? We've got a civil war going on in Syria, hostage situations, Al Qaeda puffing out their chests in North Africa, North Korea talking mad shit, and you want me.. The President of the United State of America... to comment on football and the safety of the sport?" and then laughs in the reporters face and dismisses them appropriately.
These "questions" are asked of him because he wants them to be asked. He wants to shift focus from his unpopular gun control tripe to something else... football. It's a political trick, and I'm embarrassed that it occurs and people fall for it. Just sad.
Obama needs to STFU.

Obama: Change coming to reduce violence in football
