Well, it was true that Shannon and Franklin were better tacklers than Wort. That said, if we cant get the DTs to keep the clean to the ball, it wouldnt matter if Rocky Calmus and Torrence Marshall were back there.
Wort was good with BV because BV kept him coming forward. He didnt have to do much moving around to find a fit to the ball. Mike Stoops did him no favors this year. Had him matched up in man with small RBs and slot WRs. That pretty much the story for the Kst game and that really put the fans down on Wort. Our scheme this year was probably the worst in the conference.

Our LBs have been poor for a few years now and guess who recruited the LBs on roster now? BV recruited every LB on roster so someone has to be blamed for the lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball.
Fact is Wort was beaten out midway through the season by a younger player.

You had all three LB's (including Wort) on the All-Big 12 team last year!? Let me say it again... last year all 3 OU LB's made the All-Big 12 team. One was drafted into the NFL! But yea... they sucked.
And the actual "fact is" Wort was the starter in every game of the year besides one... and, he was your best LB on the team.
