  • I can honestly say I watched the game last night and really didn't care whether we won or lost. I'm numb to what's going on with our football program - my brain can't process how far we have fallen.

    When you know there's a real good possibility Mack will be back next year AND that will most certainly lead to another RRS beat down, you sort of have to withdraw from the program and shut down your emotions to keep your head from exploding.

    Deloss needs to realize, to us, it's not about the money - this is very real on a personal level to Texas fans. I really don't think the bloodless accountant from Kansas understands that point.

    The problem is your talking about Deloss, who these days is all about the $$$. I said this Texas program is turning in to something similar to what the Dallas Cowboys organization looks like. We have a whole lot of "show" (resources and exposure) but not a whole lot of substance to go along with it. I think it's going to take Deloss to step down before Mack does. When that happens, Mack will probably go with him. My best guess is there both gone next year no matter what happens.

    I don't even think it is Mack's ability to recruit. The man was blessed to be the head coach at The University of Texas! Recruits come for the name. I think just about anybody in the country can have good recruiting classes here at Texas. Now if we fall off the chart completely, and it looks like that is where we are headed, then it is a different story. Texas is still at a point where someone else can come here and recruit the hell out of the state. It is true that if Mack could coach, we would have probably had 3 or 4 NC in the past decade. Truth is, we don't. We have 1 and 2 Conference titles to go with it. That is because we had a freak at QB that only come once in a lifetime...

    Did u notice that I said, if Texas is at a place where it is right now? Of course Mack picked Texas up, but I am sure a lot of coaches would have done the same. I only said that a lot of people give Mack too much credit as a recruiter. I really think that a lot of coaches can recruit as well or better than Mack, if they coaches at Texas right now. The one reason is that it is Texas. If we get irrelevant, and we r getting there, then it won't be the same story. Stop saying that I don't give Mack credit. I do. I also think there are plenty of coaches that can succeed in Texas just as Mack Brown did or better simply because Texas is a flagship university of a football crazy state!
