Love to have him, but if I were him, I would have a really difficult time pulling the trigger for Austin...

What we don't know is how deeply players, parents, and coaches have gone into the issues and controversies that will affect Penn State in the future; and if anyone cares enough to factor those elements into a decision to stay with or enter the program.
There is a new and active organization (very pro-Joe Paterno) with more than 8,500 members called Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship that wants "to remove all trustees who were at the helm of the University prior to November, 2011." Their websiste, psjrs.wordpress.com makes for some fascinating reading.
Many Penn State alumni are are also upset with the Acting Athletic Director, an orthopedic surgeon who many feel is unqualified for the job. They have not yet begun a national search for a new one.
Additionally, there is movement by some Pennsylvania officials to revamp the board and consider greater disclosure. Penn State is a "state-related" university
and is not subject to Open Records requests like Texas and others are.
I predict that more stories will emerge that will cast Penn State in unfavorable lights, so we'll have to see what the reaction is on the athletic programs. Things could be stormy for awhile, and I don't blame any player or their parents to not want to be a part of the additional agitations and controversies that may arise.
