Step away from the edge gentlemen. The Aggies have shown that the SEC isn't as good as advertised; and had a huge win today. The Aggies were lucky; they caught Alabama as flat emotionally as the Tide could get, probably flatter than we were against Kansas. It was 20-0 after the first quarter, before Alabama finally woke up, but it was too late. They are loaded at QB and tailback; but they are losing three offensive linemen; two of who will be first round tackles and a four year starter at center. Lose their top wide out. Seven in total on offense. Also will lose six starters off their defense; including a first round D.E. There 2013 class is basically full with 29, only five of who can be considered anywhere close to elite and one probably will never make it in. They will make room somehow if RSJ decides to sell his talent there; but that's it for this year.
Obviously they will have momentum heading into 2014. No question. But Mack has always been able to recruit and always will be able to compete. He was completely dominated by Swoop's during the early part of the '00s, but came back to close the door on Texas talent to him. If; and its a big it; we close out the season with a win over TCU and make a game out of it up in Manhatten; U.T. is fine. We are loaded for the next two years. Returning 10 offensive starters and 9 defensive starters. As long as we finish 9-3; we will be fine going forward. If we lose to TCU and are blown out by KSU; then its a different story.

Lots of delusion there. Mack is old and washed up, and still sucks at strategy and maximizing the talent on hand, but now has actual in state competition for the top talent. Aggy finally nailed the HC spot and is doing what they're now doing in the SEC!SEC!SEC! which will provide a feedback loop increasing their exposure and allure. Lot of talk now about Texas supporting two great in state programs, despite an overwhelming history of that never happening long term.
Texas is anything but fine. This offseason is crucial, and it looks like the wrong decision will be made. Get ready for another beatdown in Dallas, a swan song of 10 or so wins and Mack out after next year, and get ready for the 2014 class, and the early returns of the 2015 class to put the next coach in a major hole going into the middle of this decade, and aggy consolidating top program in Texas status in 1-2 years. Get ready for the wilderness again.

I listened to the same stupid shit after OU 2000-2003. Its gotten old. Don't talk to me about delusion. Try to look at history. Two 65-14 blow-outs and two other losses. Somehow, Mack managed to keep bringing in talent and we went on the best run in U.T. history other than when DKR was our head coach.
When Brown was hired, Aggie had owned Texas recruiting for the past decade. Mack isn't old , he's 62. That's when Bobby Bowden went on one the best runs in college football history. If he's still motivated, and based on this year's turn around, he still is; we are in good shape as long as we finish out this season . I've already said this; if we lose to TCU and/or are blown out by KSU, then its a different story.
I'll say what bothers me about U.T. recruiting going forward. It isn't the Aggie's . Its the LHN. We are taking significant numbers of games off television for most kids. They aren't seeing us. That's going to have an impact in the future. DeLoss may be shooting the golden goose for a couple of bucks. We can afford to take 25% of our games off of television.

After 2000-2003 Mack was bailed out by two incredible talents at QB. I like Ash, but he's no VY or Colt.
Nothing changed after '03 w/r/t Mack's mentality. He told boosters the day before the OU game, it was OK to lose that game! That's a loser's mentality, and only something transcendental can overcome that. Which otherwordly talent is going to unclench Mack's sphincter in Dallas in the near future?
