Unsurprising that you have the best take on this. I wish him peace with this decision, whatever it is.

My two cents----- I think the responsible action as a father is to maximize your options for financial security for at least the next two decades (probably longer). One more year to get a valued degree would certainly further the cause. And waiting should only help, not hurt, his NBA options. One could argue another year at Texas might result in a career ending injury but that arguement only supports the need for options best provided by obtaining a degree. All that aside, JC will be respected whatever his decision is....and supported. Must say though, next Tuesday can not get here fast enough!

Thanks for the insight. I wish J'Covan nothing but good luck whether it is at Texas next year or in the pros. One of my all time favorite Longhorns.

He would almost certainly not be a first round pick if he were to go pro this year, making his potential contract not guaranteed.

Without full knowledge of his financial situation and how that is affecting his responsibility to his daugher, I would say it would be more beneficial to come back. Tough spot to be in. Either way, I agree that there really isn't a bad choice. Just a tough one.
