No Visit Policy

  • Recruiting dilemmas: The pros and cons of a no-visit policy (Herndon column)

What happens if you have a no-visit policy and one of your commitments wants to take a visit elsewhere? Thanks to Alabama, Texas may soon find out.

  • I think the author and some on here have misunderstood the policy.

The policy isn't if you visit somewhere else we will 100% cut you off. They're saying they might look around too.

Say we wanna take just one RB and Gresham visits Bama and we offer another kid an he accepts, we can pull his offer and say, you're SOL. Or we can just wait and see and he might decide to stick with us and we might decide to stick with him.

The policy is if you're wishy-washy in your commitment we will reserve the right to return the favor.

Thanks. So many people misunderstand this.

If you visit another school, we reserve the right to have another recruit visit us, and if we like him better, you lose your spot. If not, then you may potentially keep your spot.

It's a two-way street. I think some people think this isn't a fair policy to the kids, but don't commit unless you're actually "committed." Commitment should be binary, and unfortunately these days, it's not. Admittedly, it both helps and hurts Texas. We seem to remember the sting of people that have left us more than the benefit of those that we have flipped.

That doesn't allow the moron cousin f*ker that wrote the article to talk badly about UT so just ignore the facts and write what you want is the approach taken
