the Killeen Daily-Herald, Naashon Hughes has committed to Texas coach Mack Brown as a greyshirt.
Jeff is tracking down more info.
Very nice pick up for the Horns.

9:10 a.m. UPDATE
I just talked with Harker Heights head coach Mike Mullins. Naashon Hughes has committed to Texas as a greyhirt for right now, with the possibility that it could turn into a 2013 offer down the road.
Story coming.

He won't grey shirt. Attrition somewhere will have him on campus in the fall of 2013. We have two springs, a summer and a football season to sort this out. Welcome aboard.

That's awesome! You could tell from his tweet the other night, that he REALLY wanted to attend the University of Texas. I'm glad that he was given the opportunity. I'm sure his teammate Mr. James will be following soon.

I just want to point out that for maybe the only time ever, I had a good point/question yesterday....Below is my post in the eyes.............
While I'm not a huge proponent of this strategy, what is the possibility of offering a grey shirt to N Hughes. If unlikely he'd play as a freshman anyway, with his brother here, numbers being tight, and close friend of James it might make sense. Would the kid consider this offer, I don't know? Mack hasn't done this much if any in the past, but then again, we did get 2 JUCO players this year...If a ship opens up later, then give it to him
