I would forego the rb coach, let applewhite do it and hire a lb coach, someone who played it at a high level in a respected scheme, diaz needs help badly

Agree - we need an LB as well, but need a great RB coach now with all the talent we have.

Maybe they should let Ricky Williams be the RB coach as a GA. Then hire a LB or special teams coach.

I don't, it's stupid to even think of hiring someone that has never coached at any level, never recruited, and made a lot of poor decisions since leaving UT when there are plenty of qualified candidates out there.

If Mack is too scurred to fire Diaz and Chambers, who are doing nothing to coach up their positions, then Mack himself needs to coach RBs (or give it to a GA) and he needs to hire a LB coach. Or let Chambers (barf) coach RBs, and let TEs be split between Wyatt and Searels while a new LB coach is hired.
Diaz can not coach LBs next season if Mack wants the defense to improve.

I hate to put too much on Applewhite's plate, but he should keep RBs and QBs. We need another DC coach.

We need to get a elite recruiter that can take over Major's territory in Houston. Special teams experience should be a bonus if they have it.

In order to be a GA, wouldn't he have to first be a "graduate"?
Ricky is my favorite Longhorn of all time, but to want to hire him to do a job that he has zero training for is just insane. Just because he knew how to run the ball doesn't mean he can teach it.
