There are teams still on the course and we are now down to a tie for 8th. North Florida and Liberty could potentially fall below us so we could move up to a tie for 6th, but several other teams could also move ahead of us still.

Gribble off to quite the struggle early. After an opening birdie, he's made two double bogies. Good news is Hakula is -1 and picking up his slack. Horns start on the front nine today where the opening hole is almost a gift of a birdie. Spieth is playing it now....Horns are +1 on the day thus far and in 10th place.

He's -2 thus far. Horns are playing very well. Even par on the day. Special shout out to Hakula who just made an ace and still stands at -1. Gribble will have his score dropped today. +6 on the front nine.

Coach Fields never won the Mountain West one time while at UNM.

Spieth makes triple bogey on the tricky par 4 10th. Damn. Vegas just birdied two holes to move back to even par. Hakula and Vegas are carrying the load right now. Fritelli and Spieth are +3 and +2.

The wheels have fallen off our super star a little bit. Spieth follows the triple bogey up with a double at the par 5 11th. Good news is Hakula has moved to -1 on his round to hold things together a bit. Texas is +6 on the day. Need to get this one to the house.

Looks like I jinxed us. Another double for Spieth who clearly can't recover from that triple at 10. Looks like we'll take Gribble's +8 today. Horns falling down the board and in a T-25th now. A&M just passed us......gulp.

So 1 top 10 in 14 years as HC...............Austin is a Mecca for golfers. The facilities are second to none. This is a time when the aggies have a NC? We've had some disappointments this year but this team is failing to get the job done again...........

Note: the Horns are now #22 (+17) and the aggies are #27 (+27)/ In addition it looks like 9 teams still on the course will come back to the Horns. My guess is we finish about 12-9

True, but they are only 2 strokes from getting into the top 8 (which IIRC is where they need to be to advance to match play) and 5 strokes back from 3rd. Very poor performance today but along way from being out of it.

Horns are just fine. 5 out of third and just one stroke away from the match play. Spieth rebounds and Texas should be in. Course will be set up tough, must have patience today.

The Horns will be the last groups to tee off today starting at 1:40 and I am assuming that is EST
