  • ESPN HornsNation posted a thread about whether or not the Texas coaching staff should start recruiting RSJ again. I don't have ESPN Insider so I couldn't read what they had to say, but is this purely theoretical or is there reason to believe that this is a possibility?

Not a Mod, but, as a fan I hope that we continue to focus on Rhodes. Not sure that RSJ is a WR in college. Maybe a TE or DE.

We could definitely use a DE though...

  • Mack has integrity and isn't willing to cheat and buy recruits' signatures. Not happening.

I agree - anytime Oregon shows up on a kids list you gotta wonder what's going down.

I agree with this. If the Texas coaches think they can flip Rhodes, then he should be the priority as far as WR goes.

  • Here's part of their response:

William Wilkerson: I don’t think you’ll find a person who covers recruiting, a football coach that’s seen Seals-Jones play, or even a casual fan whose just read about the Sealy sensation who doesn’t think he’ll be the same, and then some, in college.

He’s as much of a sure thing as I’ve seen, whether he ends up at wide receiver or tight end. If he keeps his priorities in order and hones his craft in college, there’s little doubt in my mind he’ll be playing on Sundays.

That said, the answer to this question is a resounding no.

In a perfect world for Texas’ staff, this question would never even be in question. Seals-Jones would have honored the verbal commitment he made on Feb. 22 and stuck with the Longhorns. But that didn’t happen.

What offensive recruit wouldn't want to play there and be showcased in a weekly boat race?

Spare me the pay for play. Results speak for themselves.

Couldn't disagree with you (William) more! I've seen the kid play plenty, been around he and the family and couldn't be happier that Texas moved on from him. If you think the Ags have worries with Thomas Johnson wait till they get this one! Good luck!

While your argument has some merit, there is really no debating the shadiness of Oregon's recruiting, particularly as it pertains to Texas. Come on.

Who was the top WR in last years class? Dorial Green-Beckham... wow, what a gem that guy has turned out to be.

I'm with Mack on this one - turn the page, and try and get Rhodes. Kid has more upside at WR anyway.

The dude must suck because he won't win a Biletnikoff this year. If he sucks, what's your opinion of Cayleb Jones, Kendall Sanders, and Marcus Johnson?

Nevermind that game winner that DGB caught against Tennessee, because chupita thinks he sucks.

Says the guy who keeps screaming that "MACK HAS THE BEST WINNING PERCENTAGE SINCE HE GOT HERE!!"

P.S. People disagree with your tone much more than they disagree with your ideas. It's okay to like Mack and it's okay to be a diehard, permanent burnt-orange glasses wearing fan. But when you call everyone who disagrees with you an idiot and refuse to acknowledge any opposing ideas, you become a caricature and alienate yourself.

What the hell does any of this have to do with Cedric Benson? Do you think he was?

If so, you should start a thread about it.

You're the dipshit that turned this into a DGB thread, comparing RSJ to him.

Answer the question, twinkle toes. What is your opinion of Benson? Was he not a "gem"?

    Wow, thanks!

I was called an "idiot" for not supporting the "Fire Mack Brown" propaganda way before I took a defensive posture. I simply learned how to communicate with idiots on this board, by the way they chose to treat other people with differing opinions.

I'm not here to make friends with morons that have nothing but blind hatred for the current team and coaching staff.

    Thanks for the critique though.

No, I don't cocksucker! Nor do I think DGB is. There actions spoke louder than any stats.

So you wouldn't take RSJ because DGB got caught with pot in college? That's your actual reasoning for not taking the guy. Got it. Makes a ton of sense.
