Translation Mack gave him more money to stay. That seems to be the status quo these days around Bellmont. Like the players, everyone gets a trophy for "trying hard". In this case, the coaches get raises. Makes me sick to think I'm going to have to see him on the sideline looking lost as teams run up and down the field on us, but maybe Mack deserves that. He wants to keep him, then he can go down with him if things don't turn around. All I can do is hope the light bulb comes on and he adjust his scheme to fit this conference, because I just don't see how Mack can go in to another season with this guy approaching games in the same manner as he did this season.It really is something to see that he wasn't handed his walking papers, but that would have been an admission by Mack that he screwed up again hiring him in the first place and that's not going to happen if he can avoid it.

here is my hope. Manny is a smart guy. I think we all can agree on that. Maybe not "football smart" but he is an intelligent guy. And "sometimes" intelligent guys can actually learn. They can make changes. IF they are not to stubborn.
Manny can learn. He CAN make changes. He can get help.
I think he has a ton of potential. Now potential is NOT what we should hire as a coordinator at UT, so much as i love Mack (ok, i am in the minority on that, i realize), Mack made a mistake hiring on Manny's potential. But he is what we have now. I hope he maximizes that potential this coming year and makes a reality of it.
I will trust that can happen.
