How familiar are you with Arkansas exactly. I mean outside of this season. Apparently not much.
Cannot argue differently about the LSU coach. He gave away the game last week but what their record has to do with anything is beyond me.
Maurice Smith says hi. He looks forward to playing for Nick. But if Bama picks up a few, LSU picks up a few, Florida picks up a few, Arkansas picks up a few then toss in Oregon and USC and when you add it up you suddenly have a shit storm. Unlike when Baylor or Tech or Aggy pick up a few because they arent getting the same recruits.
You must not remember when Texas kids were running to places like South Bend, Tallahassee, Miami, and Gainesville. Yes it was 20 years ago but that doesn't mean it won't happen again.
If you are living in the present why do you keep bringing up prior recruiting classes, prior recruits, records from years ago.
Never said I didn't like the coach thats your presumption. I defended him for years but facts are facts. He has historically recruited well by building up relationships with HS coaches, winning games and closing down the border. He still has the relationships with coaches.

My life as a Texas fan doesn't revolve around beating OU. It's just important, and unlike you, Mack Brown, and the staff and players he's also indoctrinated into his idiotic line of thinking, I value wins against OU and seeing a competitive rivalry. You don't. You can say what you like, but your actions speak otherwise and they do so much more loudly. Attempting to poo poo the perennial gang rape is nothing short of sabotage to the program if you care at all.
You guys are all living in fantasyland if you think things are ok. You are choosing to ignore a number of systemic problems and indicators. This recruiting class is going to get worse. Not better, worse. The recruiting magic from 2010 isn't going to be there, especially when Applewhite takes another job. Why would he do that? Well, if you follow Mack Brown as closely as you think you do, you know fully well he doesn't puff up coaches out of the blue for nothing. Brown's embarrassing elation after beating a mediocre Tech team and hugging players and Dodds should tell you something as well. Seeing the boards flooded with Bellmont trolls. Beating KU by 4. Bragging on tight wins against a 1-7 team and a 3-3 team, at the time of the wins. Continuing to insist that OU is just another game. You are lost if you think this apparent return to dominance is just around the bend.
You remind me of the "trust Mack and Greg" clowns when some of us were worrying over the laziness being exhibited in the recruiting classes of 2006-2009.
ISU and TCU are decent teams, guys. Texas treated Tech like a Super Bowl. They're going to have to get up for these as well and they're going to have to show something more than they've shown all year on defense against the opponent after that, in Manhattan, on national tv. 7-2 turns to 8-4 real quick, although no doubt there will be plenty of you here to tell us all why that is awesome and a-ok and wait till next year.
The difference in the fan divide is that one group is in love, fatally, with being good. Add "classy" to that and that group shits itself in glee. On the other side sits everyone else, and they see that this program can be great. By great, I mean regularly winning conference championships, beating OU regularly, and playing for NTs every 2nd or 3rd year. That group understands that Texas has every single possible resource required for success in college football and that recruiting and talent is a part of those resources, not something for which Mack Brown is deserving of enormous praise. The chasm will never be crossed, but I enjoy laughing at all of you who sit on the other side and yap to each other about the classiness of losing by 40+ to Bob Stoops and the brigands up north.
