Mack said the commitment to Malcolm Brown was that Texas will run the football better. He said there was a commitment to a balanced offense.

They were both recruited as corners but understood they could end up at safety. Akina recruited just about every kid with the idea of trying them at corner first.
With Scott, I can see him sticking at safety because I don't think he can turn and run good enough to play corner at Texas. That's part of why his ranking reflects that vs the other DBs in this class.

We truly don't know yet.
All DB coaches would prefer safeties that play the run and pass equally well. But the facts are, few of those guys exist so coaches end up willing to sacrifice one over the other.
Not sure yet where Gray will come out, but I have heard him speak before and he's in the "speed cures a lot of ills" category generally.
