Loudest moment at DKR?

  • I'm still hoping Johnny Walker chimes in... would enjoy hearing his thoughts!

  • I have been to a few games and one of the loudest moments I can recall was 2009 against Tech. The team had revenge on their mind after the 2008 debacle. It was another night game and towards the beginning of the 4th quarter (21-17 Texas) is where I remember it being very loud. Tech had just intercepted the ball and almost went 3 and out until we were hit with a roughing a passer penalty. A few plays later Sergio Kindle comes off the edge and the blocker could not get to him fast enough. Once Kindle had daylight, he was on a blindside path towards Potts. The crowd was anticipating it and then BOOOOM!! Kindle lights up Potts and nearly decapitates him (well not really he just hits him so hard that his helmet comes off). The crowd goes nuts as did I. Texas recovers and we win the game eventually 31-24.

That moment clearly sticks out for me because it was awesome to watch. The crowd was buzzing and we got our revenge.

It is sad that Kindle has the narcolepsy issues because I think he would have been awesome for the Ravens.

I was at the UH game in '90 and the Tech game in '09. The crowd noise for both games was exceptional, but the UH game seem to be the loudest of the two.

Definitely agree. Also, crowd noise for UH was fueled by ecstasy while Tech game was fueled by sheer panic and fear. To me, they sound different.

  • I know this is not DKR, but it's DKR-North. Also, I was at this game and it took me, at least, a couple of hours to regain full hearing due to the loudness of the crowd. I was also sitting in the endzone directly in front of where Johnny Walker caught the winning TD.
