I understand each recruitment is different, but I truly wish more parents would look at past Texas de-commitments and the disappointment that ultimately happens with their sons college choice...
Emannuel Moody leaving USC after a year & trying to contact Texas, to no avail...Thomas Johnson telling others he made a mistake signing with aggy after Texas telling him his spot was no longer available...Darrell Scott's fiasco...and many others
This isn't about some pathetic Mack Brown Curse...it's about kids looking @ the right now, when there's prime examples of others doing the same, & being supremely disappointed in the long run
Good luck to RSJ, but I agree with Gerry, the likelihood of him signing with Texas is almost nil, & I suspect he'll be personally disappointed in January 2013 if Texas is no longer an option

So, Gerry, you think RS-J has become another kid who wants to "feel the love" from lots of suitors? If so, that sends up lots of red flags with me. I don't mind a kid wanting to make sure of his decision, but it does make you wonder what he is being told by other schools to make him de-commit.

The only positive out of this is Searles is his area recruiter and he is used to fighting to the end for a recruit from his days in the dirty SEC. Wyatt as his position coach will also fight to the end for a recruit. Hopefully Mack allows them to continue to recruit RSJ.

Not sure how much it matters but Oscar Giles is the lead recruiter for RSJ.

I don't think the head coach anywhere is ever the lead recruiter. The head coach is allowed less contact with recruits. Mack is involved in all the recruiting though.
