Loading Issue

  • This may have already been mentioned, but this site and each individual thread takes 5x as long for me to load as virtually any other site, football related and otherwise. I'm not sure others are having this problem, but I thought it was worth noting in case Bobby and co. were unaware of the issue.

  • I don't have a problem here but Recruitocosm takes forever to load. Scrolling is slow over there as well.

    I have complained a couple of times in the last few months, and have considered dropping 24/7 but I like the site very much... but my patience is running thin. I know my $10.00 per month won't make a bit of difference to you guys and the site is worth every dime.
    It takes about 10sec. to load anything on this site and I have NO problem with ANY other site on the internet so the question is ....anyone working on this or is this just the way it will stay? If so when can you expect results?

  • Same here, takes forever to load every post. Site also completely shuts down on occasion. This is a great site though but this needs to be addressed.

  • I run Firefox and AdBlock Plus 1.3.3 (free download). This is the fastest site for refresh and download that I frequent. They do a great job with navigation and easy-to-find content. Clear your cache frequently. Just my .02 worth.

  • Hey guys, I just emailed one of our tech guys and got this response:

    "We’re aware of the issue with load times on IE (Internet Explorer) and our developers have been working on ways to improve it over the last day, but it’s currently slow."

    I use Firefox and it works fine for me. I'll let you know if I hear anything else regarding our loading speed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Agree, thought I was the only one. It has made me ponder whether to stay with it as well. I like to quickly click, shoot to the bottom of a thread, read the latest, and move to anoither thread and it keeps me from doing that. I like the site content better than any other but find myself going to others for the sake of keeping things quick and not wasting too much time.

    I appricate your response, but this has been the same for 5 months and the tech guy says,"we have been working on ways to improve it over the last day". Where have they been the last few months when we were complaining?
    I would hire a tech that could fix the problem but i'm glad they are trying .

  • Yeah I had the same issues using IE at work but when I use Firefox at home the load time is fine.

    Maybe you have a past version of our css, which is entirely possible since we changed it multiple times in the last few days trying to fix IE. WOuld you try a shirt+refresh or clear cache.

    I've definitely seen the Chrome issue you're talking about, but it seemed to fix when I received the new css.

    Yeah, this is the main thing we're working on ... trust me, it's to the point we feel like we need to re-write the entire thing just for IE users.

    In the meantime, if you have the ability, and do not mind the inconvenience of having a second browser you could download firefox here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

    I know it's not fixing the core issue, but it's a work-around for now. We've lost a lot of sleep on IE over the past few months and are trying to balance getting it fixed while supporting every new site/feature/customer service issue at the same time.

    I've definitely seen the Chrome issue you're talking about, but it seemed to fix when I received the new css.

    still doing it even after totally cleaning the Cache, all cookies, data, etc

    This is the current up to date stable release of Chrome btw..not one of their beta versions

    You also dont see the icons for pinned threads. Just one long list of threads that look out of alignment

  • Firefox does work a lot faster. I also have turned off the signature which speeds things up. Would it speed things up to have categories like many other sites? Football, recruiting, basketball, baseball. NFL?

  • I'm on IE8 as well and its a good 10-15 second delay, but I ain't leaving regardless of how hard ya'll try to run me off. LOL.
