Look out for their defense this year. Could be better than a lot of people think. I think they take a step back this year, but I expect their defense to give people some trouble in 2012.

Texas has 2 weeks to prepare for OkState after being at Ole Miss. Texas will not lose to a Frosh QB this year.

Texas will also kick the dog shite out of Baylor in Austin.

  • They should just hand me the $.
    Bama-20 @ A&m - easy $
    Lsu-8 @ A&m - Really? Wow, $$$
UF pick up vs Aggies - ill take gators.

Texas -11 vs Baylor- good line but I got TX by 13-17. Don't bet.
Texas -7 vs Tcu after a bye, take TX
    Texas +3 @ ok St - take Texas $$
    Texas -3 @Kst - stay away

Agree with everything. The OSU game I'm betting a lot on. A really dumb line by Vegas.

OKst getting a lot of respect. The Kst line is interesting too. No doubt these will move after a few games early. Today, I would take OU, OKst and Kst.

9 wins or more for four consecutive years will do that.

I expect the line will go down in the preseason as I think a lot of Texas fans will bet on the Longhorns when media previews come out.

Count me in on the WVU is overrated camp.

Too much weight going into the Clemson score. That same WVU team also only put up 30 on a non bowl eligible S-Fla team (1 game before) and 21 v. a crappy Pitt team (2 games before) that while bowl eligible turned around and gave up 27 to SMU while getting smoked in their bowl.

I think most fans would be okay with "only" scoring 30 against USF and 21 against their biggest rival.

  • Really like:

    Texas +3 at OSU
    Florida over A&M
OU -8 vs OSU (OSU is extremely overvalued)
    Michigan +12 vs Alabama
    USC -7.5 at Stanford

Some pretty juicy lines in that list.

Certain amount of truth in this ^^^...I mean I was okay with Texas only scoring 27 pts on Thanksgiving

  • And a&m is a better/stocked team compared to pitt, albeit that's not saying much for the lot of em

True . . . but said team would not be anointed the greatest offense in football for it either.

WVU was benefited by 4 Clemson turnovers and a team that quit.

Oh I don't really disagree with the your overall point. And I think you'll be proven correct. Just was having fun with those two examples.

  • Oklahoma

    -14.5 vs. Kansas State
-5.5 vs. Texas - at Dallas
    -11 vs. Notre Dame
    -17 vs. Baylor
    -4 at West Virginia
    -8 vs. Oklahoma State
    -9.5 at TCU

Oklahoma will win most of those no doubt, but I bet they don't cover the spread in many of them.

I would swap the Okla St and K St. game lines.

I would as well. Other than K-State, I would be all over these earlier lines.

Well, the question is how will people react after the first few games for texas? You guys dont really have a tough game in the OOC so the potential is there to look like things are back to normal. That, IMO, will make the line move more than anything. No real test early coupled with a fan base that is used to winning could have people putting out some bad bets. But we will see. OKst hasnt had a bad QB in a long time in that offense.

There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.

  • Ole Miss is expected to be a gimme game for the Horns, but the last time Texas went to the state of Mississippi in the month of September they got a rude welcome. Ole Miss does not have much offense, but their defense will be a tough test against the run IMO.

I tend to agree with this. Should be a good litmus of how strong the Texas rushing game really is.

Something like Cal without the stud receiver?

Q: Bobby, each time I re-watch that game I come away with the thought that a big part of our offensive problems revolve around inability to hold the line at the center position. We got abused that game . . . and others. I know there has been some board banter about OL lineup changes to resolve the issue, but I'm not sure where we stand. What are you seeing/hearing about what the coaches are doing to shore up that issue? Certainly they have identified it as and issue to be resolved over the off season, correct?

Yeah, each time I catch myself thinking we're going 12-1 next year, I go back and rewatch the Holiday Bowl, and I'm reminded how utterly horrible we were on offense in that game (across the board - oline, QB play, running game, Mike Davis drops - it's a little microcosm of the entire season).....but damn the defense played well!
