    I've proven you wrong so many times on this topic and you still refuse to accept it. Whaley and Finch both averaged over 5 ypc last year, which completely throws out your argument. And are you really going to call Whaley average? If he's average then what was the Texas D last year? Not trying to get everyone going here, not my place but this guy continues to say the same dumb stuff with zero stats to support anything. I apologize.

    If he stays healthy, Whaley is pretty good. Our job is to make it irrelevant with superior play from our line and linebackers.

    The Texas D was five games into a brand new defense with a new DC, LB coach and DL coach. Playing lots of freshmen and sophomores.

    Let's remember where Whaley got all those YPC too.

    Kansas 5.5
    FSU 3.4
    MU 4.3

    Against Texas he had 83 yards on 13 carries, 6.4 avg, one of those was a 64 yarder. So 12 carries for 19 yards, or 1.58 YPC the rest of the day. Good for him he broke a long one. Other than that most of his yards were against terrible defenses, one being a Div 2 team.

    The jury is still out on Whaley, and his bum leg.

    Great stats. We didnt really make a great effort to run the ball downhill against you guys last year. I felt we could have had some success if we had, but Heupul put us in pass mode with a token run play here and there. Whaley is a good back, but we gotta see how he does coming off that ankle. IMO, he doesnt start but is worked slowly into the role by mid-season. I think the backs you will see early are Clay and Millard. Whaley did run well against FSU along with Clay, but Huepul has to get better at mixing the run game up. Running over UTEP and FAMU wont tell me anything, so itll be the Kst game to tell me if we can run effectively or not.

    Pizza bet: OU will outrush texas at the RRS. Whos in?

    I think you guys should rack it up against lesser defenses, but I like our DL against your OL. New starters at DE, but we rotate 4 of them all the time, so they arent green. DT will be solid. I know this much....if you struggle running aginst any of your OOC opponents, itll be a long year for you guys. Your OOC is not very tough at all. Wyoming being the best of the three.

    No sir and like I said, my post wasn't intended to be a disrespectful, highjack the thread post. I was pointing out that OU ran the ball well, when we ran it. Obviously, our offensive philosophies differ ave Texas will run the ball much more, resulting in more yards. But ypc is actually in OU's favor, which means we can run the ball too. That's my point.

    With Whaley, he was very productive last year. Landry said Whaley is running and cutting and will be cleared for practices. This year, we return our three leading rushers, plus Millard and my wild card, JUCO AA Damien Williams. With all but one OL returning from the 2 deep, OU will be able to run the ball. My intial post was only directed at Willow though.

    Texas surrendered 8 sacks for 84 yds in losses. OU gave up 1 for 4 yds.

    Texas turned the ball over 5 times to 1 by OU.

    Each team had a fumble recovery it did not advance.

    On the other 4 Texas turnovers, OU had 143 return yds and 3 TDs

    OU didn't need to rush the ball. They were too busy making 17 first downs, 3 TDs and 367 yds on 60% completions.

    If Texas plays like a real team instead of screwing up at every turn, Texas will be fine, no matter what OU does.

    Well, now comes my beef with TLN. Since they are showing two of your OOC games on your own network, we wont get to see if your team has indeed improved or not. Wyoming might provide a little fight, but Ole Miss and New Mexico are even speed bumps if you guys are what you say you are.

    No doubt turnovers played a huge deal last year. Run defense was solid, pass defense was MIA. I just hope we can run the ball better than last year in this game.

    I'm pretty sure it's a draft depth chart issue. Last year, he had to contend with Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Weedan, a far deeper number of QBs than this year with Barkley, and maybe Tyler Wilson.
