Laker Blake hammered by fans...

One needs to put sports in perspective. The internet has brought us a forum to express, without consequences for the user.

The visceral nature of posts still amazes me - internet coaches ripping players and coaches and schemes and every damned thing. Having an opinion is fine. (although rarely are these informed opinions - I'm also amazed at the number of people who have somehow deluded themselves into thinking they have the ability to correctly analyze X's and O's here. When in fact they have absolutely no idea what a scheme is, let alone thinking they can analyze it. The sole measure is if the play works it was a good scheme, and if it doesn't it's a bad scheme. The mantra of the uninformed is, "it's not rocket science". Perhaps not, but neither is fixing a transmission. But damned if I would have any idea how to fix it. Knowing something doesn't work , well Helen Keller can deetermine that. Knowing why is a different story. But that doesn't stop the, "The Grades Are In" type storyies or analysis. If you don't beleive me, read this site on game day during a game.)

Unfortunately, the idiocy of rage dominates the rational few.

    The truth hurts.

But the internet has allowed those to gutlesslly voice without a face.

Chicken fecal matter. Pure and simple.

  • Laker fans should be more upset that Bynum has maturity issues, Gasol has gutless issues and Artest has mental issues. Their best player is playing on bad knees and guts. He doesn't trust his teammates and has no doubt contemplated triple homicide on a daily basis. And oh yeah, the coach runs a play in the final seconds that takes Kobe to the other side of the floor and runs Steve Blake to the ball.

For the life of me I cant figure out why a regular person feels like they need Twitter. I'll never understand societys need to tell everyone your every little asinine thought.

Other than Gasol being gutless, I totally agree with you. Getting Blake a wide open shot in the corner was a well-designed play. If you can't 't count on Blake to hit that open shot, then he shouldn't be on the team. And he has delivered throughout the playoffs.

Bynum deserves far more criticism from Laker fans. The way he plays, he reminds me of Ralph Sampson, i.e. a guy that you can never count on when the game is on the line. With OKC's lineup, Mike Brown should be able to dominate in the post with Gasol and Bynum. Yet, time and again, they settle for crazy Kobe shots or other jump shots.

    Just insane...

I'm a proponent of getting the ball to Kobe and letting him go to work. However, I completely agree with you about Blake. He had a good look and if he knocks it down the whole complexion of the series has changed and OKC is in trouble. You just want a good look there.

LA's off-season will certainly be very interesting.

  • Be mad at Kobe - 0 for 5 and 2 turnovers in the last minutes of the game - one a dunk to Kevin
