Kansas on defense

Kansas is an improved defensive team this season, without question...
2011
120th out of 120 in total D = 516.4 yards per game
117 in rush defense = 239.1 yards per game
118 in pass efficiency
2012
85th in total D = 428.4 yards per game (and have already played Oklahoma State and Oklahoma)
87th in rush D = 185.4 yards per game
88 in pass efficiency D
Oklahoma hit Kansas in the return game in a big way, obviously, and had 406 total yards.
Oklahoma State was held under 400 yards at Kansas.
Should be interesting to see how well Texas moves the ball, and with what consistency Saturday.

Look, I'm not saying Dave Campo is any sort of answer.
OU scored touchdowns on 5 of its first 6 possessions. They scored a FG on the other.
Against OU, Kansas controlled the ball for 40 minutes.
The Jayhawks had a 10-minute, 19-play drive in the 4th quarter. They also only had one three and out in the first half and that was a fumble.

I am still confident in the Texas offense putting a lot of points on the board as long as Mack doesn't get conservative again. You have to have the mentality that every game will be a shootout with our defense.

I know Mack set that up as a pre-excuse for bad performance, but that's perfect fall football weather. You can't ask for better weather to play football in.

Didn't mean temp. If it's gusting 20-25MPH during a cole weather game, it can hurt teams chances of throwing the ball down the field effectively - any and both teams.

Well, we don't throw the ball down the field much anyway, so we should be OK. If there really is wind that could be disruptive, I would think it could play to our favor, for that very reason. That is, Kansas could get into trouble thinking the wind is in IT'S favor ...Quandre may be licking his chops ...
