I'm hoping the team will benefit from picking up another point guard before the trade deadline. I think they will.
Apparently according to OB's, it was the UT's compliance office that kinda "botched" this entire deal. According to their report, Myck lied to UT compliance officials, NOT to the NCAA interviewers (this backups Barnes comment above). They say Barnes is furious because the UT compliance office did not contact Barnes and his staff BEFORE they interviewed Myck. And apparently UT officials did not council Myck about what would happen if he did not tell the truth. Sounds like that if the UT compliance office had just talked to the basketball staff, then everyone could've gotten on the same page, and Myck's suspension would've only been 3-10 games. Of course, this doesn't excuse Myck lying initially to UT officials, but if the UT compliance office would've been a little smarter about handling this, then Myck would be already playing.
