Tiger on the 16, Jack Nicklaus called it the "gutsiest shot he has ever seen.'

You can hate Tiger all you want, but if you weren't impressed with his performance, specifically down the stretch today, then I really don't know what to say to you. Yes, he's dominated these tournaments in the past, but two wins is a lot more than what he's done the past two years.

Jack won his last Major at age 46. Which was his 18th. Four years ago Tiger won his 14th. He is due a Major anytime now. I do not believe how soon he wins his next Major will determine whether he ties or even beats Jack. I believe if he gets the next two in the next three years he will tie or pass Jack. I am a huge Jack fan. I do not want tiger to pass Jack, but if he does jack will still be the greatest.

We could go in circles about this topic. Greater names in Jack's day? Yes, but the field is much more competitive now and you have a true global game that includes asia. You could say Phil, Els, Donald, Westwood, Furyk, Choi, Scott, Louie...and that is leaving off some great field names plus not including the young guys who can really play.

I used blades when I first started playing. The skill it takes to hit those accurately is impressive as they are not forgiving at all and i stunk at it. Different world altogether with todays equipment. Jack was the best ever. I wont root against Tiger but I certainly won't root for him.

Technology has helped and hurt the game IMO. No question in my mind that today's fields are far deeper than in Jack's day. Simple numbers argument and the game is much more global.

Tiger has won three times in the last 7 months on courses he loves and feels comfortable on. Until yesterday I had yet to seem him be completely comfortable with his golf swing. He didn't really miss a shot. He really didn't make many putts and still won by two. We saw some magic return. His chipping is still far from good but you can tell he's working on that.

Tiger is one sorry ass human being but he is capable of doing things on a golf course that nobody else can and so I watch and root for those things.

The problem with that logic is you will not be able to stand at the mountain top and beat your chest until his playing days are over. Two weeks from now proves nothing.

If there was a Mount Rushmore for golf, Tiger would be on it. The only question is who do you carve first, Tiger or Jack? Right now I would say Jack because he has more majors, if Tiger ties the major total then I would say Tiger is best ever. My question with Tiger is can he play his game long enough to win the majors? Considering the nature of golf, it is hard to describe someones game as violent but that seems like the best way to describe his swing. I think that the physical break downs he has had the last couple of years have been a direct result of how he plays.

Right now the question for me is can he pull back just a little to preserve his health? If he plays at 90 or 95% in terms of power, there is not a doubt in my mind that he can still win tournaments.

I doubt anyone ever plays at the level of greatness that Tiger has everyone questioning if he'll return to. Nobody has done it previous and nobody will do it after. Jack never played at the level Tiger did. Does he still own more majors? Of course and until Tiger passes him, Jack is the best ever. But he never had a run like Tiger. Tiger is still ahead of his pace......

well slow play is a good reason to knock him down a peg.
