Back when Maurice Evans transferred, Wichita State wouldn't let him go to schools that had recruited him on the first go-round, which knocked out Kansas and Kansas State.

FWIW, Danny Manning has come out and stated that he doesn't care where Clarkson plays, not his deal.

I don't see why this is viewed as a Manning issue. The AD (or AD's designee) signs the release. It isn't the coach's decision. The coach's advice is probably taken to heart by the AD, but it is the AD that makes the final decision.
If Manning made no transfers to other Big 12 schools a condition for hire, then Tulsa should never have employed him. A head coach must understand he owes loyalty and duty to one and only one school.

If I'm Texas, I don't necessarily want the Clarkson thing to blow up like Uthoff did. But I'd definitely point out to Tulsa that it might....
