So he's going to A&M, oh well.

A&m's engineering takes a back seat to Texas' as in so many other things. This kid needs to pick up his infoormation from a reliable source and stop hearing the bs that comes from the a&m coaches! Texas engineering is the best in the state and top 5 in the nation.

He is flat wrong on the eng school; but I will give him a touch of credit for noticing there is less talent at DE at atm, an might get quicker playing time if what I am reading is true about Cottrell and Davis behind Reed and jeffcoat.

By the time this kid gets to campus, Jeffcoat will be long gone...as will Reggie Wilson. Reed will be a senior. That will leave Davis as the only junior and Bluiett and Cottrell as sophomores. We didn't sign anyone at DE last year, so that is the extent of the depth chart. Or in other words, if the kid can play, he will have the opportunity for immediate playing time. He has received some bad info.

Like I said above Bandit, playing time shouldn't be an issue if he can play. It will be available. We may have talent, but we don't have a lot of depth due to whiffing on d line recruiting last year.

If he goes there he will end up in Poultry Science like all the rest of them.

I think some of you are a bit too caught up in ranking the engineering schools. I doubt he is going to pick which of the two is ranked higher by USNWR. Hell, he wouldn't pick either if the point was simply to go to the highest ranked school with a football team.

Both schools offer excellent educations in engineering. That's what is important to him, IMO. Then you have the other criteria that most recruits consider -- depth chart, facilities, comfort with coaches, etc. -- that will help him determine where he goes.

Let's say Johnson expects to get legit playing time by year 2. Here are both Texas and A&M's 2015 DE depth charts.

Texas: Senior: Shiro, Juniors: Cottrell & Bluiett, RS Freshmen/Sophomores: whoever we sign in 2014. That's it.

A&M: Seniors: Manukainiu, Taylor, Obioha, Williams, RS Sophomores/Juniors: Points, Hall, Arnold, and an outside shot at RSJ, RS Freshmen/Sophomores: whoever they sign in 2014.

How in the hell is A&M's depth chart more favorable?

Seniors: Manu and Williams are both DTs.
RS Sophomores/Juniors: Points is a DT

RSJ will not be a DE.

That leaves us with 4 DEs on the roster older than him, 1 more than y'all.

Nothing Longhorns love more than playing guys out of position.
