JT Barrett Season Highlight Video is up

If anyone honestly believes that Swoopes is quicker or faster than Barrett then they are thinking with their hearts and not with their heads. Heart wants for Swoopes to be the "Next Vince Young". Head should be telling you he isn't, and he isn't the best QB in his class. Barrett has everything that one should look for in a college QB, except for elite height. That's it. Texas is offering Swoopes because he's tall.
Swoopes is no doubt a great kid, with great grades, and from a great family, with a great work ethic, and great desire, but he isn't a great QB prospect. He is a great TE prospect, and has legit 1st round potential as a TE, which is extremely rare and much more attainable for him than reaching the NFL as a QB.

It seems like the only real argument for Swoopes is 2 inches of height and the fear that he will become the next Vince Young somewhere else. Fear shouldn't dictate our offers. Barrett is clearly the top QB in the state, I think you just have to take him.

Since you are so adamant about the difference between the two QB's we seem to be recruiting, what is your read on what is going on?
Is it as simple as you are a better evaluator of QB talent than Bryan Harsin, Major Applewhite and Mack Brown?
Is it that we are slow playing Barrett because we feel he is a lock to commit if offered?
Is it something else?

Not Bobby, but it is pretty obvious so I'll give my input.

Texas isn't just recruiting two QBs. They are also talking to Cody Thomas.
My read to what is going on is that they are looking at all options and I don't believe a final decision has been made.
They've known about and recruited Swoopes for longer so it's natural he gets a junior day invite.
But I don't think the decision has been made.

Don't limit that to UT, you need to add Stanford,Baylor,TCU,UCLA,ND and A&M to that list too. Swoopes has offers, not invites, from all of those schools.

Those are debateable. I know at least three schools he has claimed offers from are not as a QB.
